The phrase "wa 'Ajjil Farajahum" after Salawat has been mentioned in authentic Islamic narrations. Scholars, based on these narrations, consider saying it after Salawat as recommended (mustahabb).
Mention of Wa 'ajjil farajahum in Narrations
1. Imam Sadiq (a) taught Ishaq bin Ammar a prayer for protection from the harm of scorpions and instructed him to recite this phrase three times:«اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ أَسْلَمَ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ عَجِّلْ فَرَجَهُمْ؛ O Allah, Lord of the star Aslam, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, hasten their relief, and keep us safe.»[1]
2. Allama Majlisi considered the first narration to be reliable.[5]
Given the reliability of some of these narrations, the recommendation of saying "و عجل فرجهم" after Salawat can be attributed to the narrations of the Infallible Imams (a).
